On the corner of the Orange Plaza in the heart of historic Old Towne Orange lies The Blaze Pizza. This small restaurant is surrounded by antique shops full of charm and exposed brick walls showing the aged signs of past businesses. Even though the plaza looks like something out of the early 1900’s, the pizzeria itself has more of an industrial design. People who pass by are captivated by its appearance, making it a very popular restaurant in Orange. Blaze Pizza’s name was derived from the speed at which a create-your-own pizza can be made in an open-flame oven. The restaurant is designed so the customer can choose their ingredients, observe the pizza-making process and ultimately enjoy their one-of-a-kind pizza.

The restaurant’s decor creates an urban feel through the use of stainless steel and reclaimed wood. Inside the restaurant the analagous color scheme inlcudes deep reds and orange allowing the customer to feel warm, comfortable and desire to stay and consume. Distinct orange industrial chairs play off with the intimate wooden tables and illustrate The Blaze Pizza’s urban design. These seating arrangements are placed inside and outside making them very visible to the passerby while red sofa leather seating is placed inside for larger groups.

Whether you’re inside or out, you can enjoy the industrial aesthetic through the floor-to-ceiling windows that allow natural light to illuminate the business. Hanging metal pendants add more general lighting while mood lighting is used in the ordering bar. The ceiling displays beams and vents that appear to be part of the structure of the historic building - adding to the charm. The stainless steel used in the kitchen area not only goes well with the aesthetic of the pizzeria but also helps the kitchen be cleaned efficiently which is important since it is on display for the customers.

The Blaze Pizza had a very distinct design which evidently has proven to be successful in its intent to drive in more customers. Unbenounced to the consumer, the color scheme creates a feeling that makes them want to stay longer adding more revenue. The pop of color in the chairs allow the business to stand out among its surroundings. The open kitchen area creates an experience, not just a place to eat. The large scale windows gives the customer the opportunity to enjoy their location while its seating arrangement provides different options for any customer. And lets not forget the urban vibe that is created by its industrial design - perfect for dining out in this unique location known as Orange, California.
